Visit #2

Well it was inevitable. Blake needed to visit his many friends that he had made from his previous visit to the E.R. They were all so happy to see their favorite little patient.

No, I am not joking, for the second time in our 1 year of marriage I had to take Blake to the E.R. He had been sick off & on all week with a stomach bug. Then Friday morning, around midnight, he woke up with a sharp pain in his side. After being miserable for about 30 minutes, we decided to head out to the E.R. to see what was wrong.

After catching up with all of the nurses and the staff, Blake was admitted & they suspected he had

..................................................................KIDNEY STONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was given lots of drugs which made him act a little goofy. A quick CT scan reveled 2 problems. Kidney stones & inflamed lymph nodes in his stomach. Key word: STONES. He had already begun to pass the 1st one which was the source of the pain. The inflamed lymph nodes were from a virus & they had swollen up while he was sick. Blake still has 2 kidney stones, 1 in each kidney, the little overachiever.

In addition to the CT scan, Blake needed to give them a urine sample to make sure there was nothing else going on. After TWO bags of sodium chloride solution Blake finally complied and they were able to determine that all he had MEDICALLY wrong with him was kidney stones and the virus. He managed to freak the nurse out by tensing up when she put his IV in.

They don't know if he will pass the kidney stones in the next week or ever. All weekend was devoted to keeping him comfortable & happy. He was a good little patient for me, hopefully he can wait a few more years to go back & visit all of his friends at the E.R. I don't think we can afford a yearly visit for him.
